Sustainability In Design

In 2017, global engineering consultancy Cundall conducted an independent sustainability analysis of the Luxwood Composite Panel System. The study assessed its environmental impact across manufacturing, use, and end-of-life stages, comparing it against traditional materials such as brick, concrete, and timber systems.

Cundall’s findings demonstrated that the Luxwood Panel offers outstanding sustainability performance:

  • 90% post-industrial recycled content, primarily fly ash and recycled uPVC.

  • Completely recyclable at the end of its life — can be re-extruded into new panels.

  • Low-energy manufacturing process using minimal water and producing virtually no waste.

  • Lightweight and easy to install, requiring no power tools or mortar, reducing site impact.

  • Long design life of 50+ years with minimal maintenance required.

  • Superior overall sustainability rating compared with brick, concrete, and timber alternatives.

The Luxwood Wall Panel is at the heart of every Luxwood build. Made from a composite of fly ash and resin, the panel is manufactured using over 90% post-industrial recycled material. Engineered for strength, durability, and sustainability, the Luxwood Panel forms both the floor and wall system across all Luxwood buildings.

Luxwood Helical Screw Piles serve as the foundation system to all Luxwood Builds. The screw piles allow for minimal disruption and are a superior alternative to concrete footings for modular buildings. After use the screw piles can be unscrewed and re-used on another job leaving the land as it was originally with no sutabile impact.

Our Story

Luxwood entered the Australian market in 2011, later diversifying into modular construction in 2020.

From humble beginnings in an 800 m² facility in 2020, Luxwood quickly established a reputation for quality and innovation, prompting a move to its 3500 m² Wacol premises in 2021. As demand continued to grow, the company expanded again in 2022, relocating to a fit-for-purpose manufacturing facility in Ipswich, QLD.

This new site has enabled Luxwood to take on projects of any size and complexity, from small custom builds to large-scale modular developments. Driven by a commitment to affordability, quality, and sustainability, Luxwood continues to uphold the core values on which it was founded. To date, the company has produced over 250 modular buildings across Australia, a testament to its growth, capability, and dedication to delivering smarter building solutions.
